Employee Engagement

John Hancock invites employees at every level of the organization to take an active role, lending their time, their skills, and their expertise to strengthen our community. Employee engagement is critical to our mission, our partnerships, and the programs we are able to develop and deliver.

Employees help the local American Red Cross and the Greater Boston Food Bank sort and distribute food to hundreds of local families. They paint buildings and engage youth at the Ron Burton Training Village. They raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year during our United Way Campaign. And our employees located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, help strengthen our environment by cleaning beaches with the Blue Ocean Society. The contributions made by our employees help ensure that our friends and neighbors enjoy the future they deserve.

Matching Gifts
To support our employees and increase our community impact, John Hancock provides a generous matching gifts program for its employees. Associates can support the educational institutions or nonprofit agencies they are most passionate about by sending contributions directly to those organizations. John Hancock then matches their gifts dollar for dollar, which reinforces the importance of engaging in our communities. The program also serves to extend the company's reach throughout the country. For example, the program has proven so successful that in New York alone we have provided nonprofit organizations with almost $1 million over the last three years.
