Dear Mentor Michigan Mentees,
I hope that 2007 was a rewarding and successful academic year for you. As we begin 2008, I want to urge you to continue to focus and stay committed to your studies. I want to encourage you to get involved in your schools, to volunteer at local non-profits and to discover opportunities for yourself that will open doors to your future.
"Mentoring is a great way to encourage others to live up to their potential by sharing with them lessons that have helped to shape our lives. From a holistic standpoint, mentoring can help to create an atmosphere that breeds success in school, out of school, and in the critical years of our youth. Mentoring helps to build a stronger future for our youth, our communities, and our great state."
