Tony Teta is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, John Hancock Insurance, for John Hancock, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife.
Based in Boston, he is responsible for ensuring that the Insurance business, consisting of Life and Long-Term Care Insurance, meets its financial objectives. This includes oversight of business plans and budgets; management of the inforce Life Insurance and Long-Term Care product lines; oversight of Insurance Risk Management; as well as Reinsurance governance. Mr. Teta has been a key advisor to the business on its growth initiatives, including the John Hancock Vitality launch.
Mr. Teta, who joined Manulife in 1995 and moved to John Hancock in 2004 when it was acquired by Manulife, took on his current role in 2012. Previously he held a number of senior roles in Finance, Product, Operations and IT within the U.S. Division Wealth and Annuity businesses. Before joining Manulife, he worked at New England Life.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a member of the Society of Actuaries Inclusion & Diversity Committee and is on the Parkway Community YMCA Board. Mr. Teta graduated from Harvard College with an AB in Applied Mathematics with Concentration in Economics.
