To make an electronic payment quickly and easily, have your life insurance policy number, a copy of your billing notice or contract and your checking or savings account information readily available.

Can I use a credit card or debit card to make my ePayment?
We do not accept credit card or debit card payments. ePayments must be made via a checking or savings account.
How long does it take for the ePayments to be applied to my life insurance policy?
ePayments are processed within two business days of submission. If there are any issues applying your payment, a John Hancock representative will contact you within five business days.
What amount should I pay and when is my payment due?
Please refer to your billing notice for the specific payment type, payment amount and date the payment is due. Policy loan repayments can be submitted on any date you choose.

Welcome to the John Hancock payment web site (the "ePay"). John Hancock is willing to provide you with the ability to make payments through the ePay (the “Services”) only upon your agreement that your access to and use of the Services will be subject to the following Terms of Use ("TOU"). These TOU are an agreement between John Hancock and the user of the Services ("you"). These terms may be revised without notice and become effective upon posting on this site and your use of the ePay. These terms were last revised on September 16, 2021.
DEFINITIONS
The following defined terms are used in these Terms of Use.:
"Business Day" means Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Reserve holidays.
"Payment Account" means the bank account that you authorize us to debit by electronic funds transfer when you make your bill payment using account information from your personal checking or savings account.
"Payment Date" means the Business Day you submit your payment and we will attempt to initiate the appropriate debit from your Payment Account.
"Payment Instruction" means your instruction and authorization to John Hancock to receive a bill payment.
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The Services provide users with access to various online resources, including applications that allow you to pay your bill. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any new features that augment or enhance the current Services, including the release of new Services, shall be subject to these TOU. By clicking on the “I Agree” button you agree to these TOU. If you do not agree with these TOU, do not click the “I Agree” button. Upon your acceptance of these TOU by clicking on the “I Agree” button, John Hancock grants you a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, license to access and use the Services, subject to these TOU, solely for your authorized purposes. The foregoing license includes the specific rights to use the available applications and functionalities of the Services and to print information from the Services. John Hancock does, however, reserve the rights to, without notice: (a) modify, suspend or terminate operation of or access to the Services at any time for any reason; (b) modify or change the Services or its applicable operating policies at any time; and (c) interrupt the Services as necessary to perform routine and non-routine maintenance, error corrections, or other changes.
2. BILL PAYMENT SERVICE
When you initiate a Payment Instruction, you authorize John Hancock to debit your Payment Account on the Payment Date and remit funds to John Hancock on your behalf so that the funds arrive as close to the Business Day designated by you as is reasonably possible. It is understood that due to circumstances beyond the control of John Hancock, some transactions may take two (2) to three (3) Business Days or more to be credited to your policy. This authorization shall remain in effect until you notify John Hancock of its termination in such a manner as to afford the banking organization of a reasonable opportunity to act on it. If we are unable to obtain funds for a bill payment for any reason associated with your Payment Account (for example, there is not a sufficient balance available on your Payment Account to cover the transaction), then we will not be able to complete your bill payment transaction. If there is a problem in processing your Payment Instruction, John Hancock may attempt to contact you, using the telephone number or email address you have provided.
Any purported payment submitted to John Hancock including through the ePay, whether or not credited to the policy by John Hancock, which is returned or protested does not constitute payment. John Hancock does not accept ePay or other instruments unconditionally. John Hancock undertakes no duty to notify any person of a returned or protested payment, except as may be required by applicable law. Any information about your policy provided in any form by John Hancock on account of such returned or protested payment is not valid and shall not constitute a waiver or estoppel with respect to any of the terms or conditions of the policy. Such submissions will not prevent or delay a default or termination of your policy and do not extend the time for payment or any grace period as provided for under the policy. Payments are not accepted on lapsed policies.
3. LIABILITY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLETE TRANSACTIONS
John Hancock will use commercially reasonable efforts to process your bill payments in accordance with your Payment Instructions. However, John Hancock shall incur no liability if a bill payment is not made in a timely manner or if it is unable to complete any payments initiated by you through the ePay because of the existence of any one or more of the following circumstances:
4. YOUR REPRESENTATIONS
You hereby represent to John Hancock and agree that:
(a) any and all information that you provide to the us through the Services or the ePay will be accurate and complete;
(b) you will not use the Services unless you have authority to do so by the person or company whose account you are accessing;
(c) you will not provide any information to us through the ePay or Services, including account information, unless you have the authority to provide such information to us;
(d) you will not use the ePay or the Services for any illegal or improper purposes;
(e) you will not use: (i) use any robot, spider, other automatic device to monitor or copy portions of the ePay or Services or the content contained therein without John Hancock’s prior written permission, or (ii) any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the ePay or Services;
(f) you will not download, reproduce, duplicate, copy or otherwise exploit any portion of the ePay or Services for the purpose of sale, resale, or making other commercial use thereof, and
(g) John Hancock may send you electronic correspondence describing changes to the Services and these TOU.
5. WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS/RISK ASSUMPTION
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE SERVICES AND THE EPAY ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS AND THAT USE OF THE SERVICES OR THE EPAY IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. JOHN HANCOCK MAKES NO WARRANTY WHATSOEVER ABOUT THE SERVICES, THE EPAY, THE OPERATION OR AVAILABILITY OF EITHER, THE ACCURACY OF INFORMATION PROVIDED ON OR THROUGH THE SERVICES OR EPAY, OR THE SECURITY OF THE SERVICES OR EPAY. MOREOVER, JOHN HANCOCK EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND REGARDING THE EPAY AND THE SERVICES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. JOHN HANCOCK MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT (A) THE EPAY OR SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, (B) ACCESS TO THE EPAY OR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, (C) TRANSMISSION OF DATA TO AND FROM THE EPAY OR SERVICES WILL BE TIMELY OR ERROR-FREE, OR (D) THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE EPAY OR SERVICES WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. YOU AGREE THAT JOHN HANCOCK, MANULIFE FINANCIAL, ITS SUBSIDIAIRIES OR AFFILIATES DO NOT ENDORSE NOR ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION, OPINION, ADVICE OR STATEMENT ON THE SERVICES OR THIS EPAY.
6. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT JOHN HANCOCK, MANULIFE FINANCIAL, OR THEIR SUBSIDIARIES OR AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF JOHN HANCOCK HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES) RESULTING FROM: (a) THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE EPAY OR SERVICES; (b) THE COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES RESULTING FROM ANY DATA, INFORMATION OR SERVICES OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH OR FROM THE EPAY OR SERVICES; (c) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA; (d) STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE EPAY OR SERVICES; OR (e) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE EPAY OR SERVICES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
In the absence of any of the exclusions set forth above, it shall be John Hancock’s responsibility to correct any transactions not completed in accordance with your Payment Instructions. In the event that John Hancock is unable to correct the transaction, the amount of funds received from you shall be refunded and this refund shall constitute your sole remedy. In no event shall John Hancock’s liability to you ever exceed the amount of funds that it receives from your Payment Account for a bill payment. THE FOREGOING SHALL CONSTITUTE JOHN HANCOCK, MANULIFE FINANCIAL, ITS SUBSIDIARES AND AFFILIATES ENTIRE LIABILITY AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. IN NO EVENT SHALL JOHN HANCOCK, MANULIFE FINANCIAL, ITS SUBSIDIARES AND AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY OTHER LOSS, INJURY, OR DAMAGES, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS (EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY THEREOF) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE BILL PAYMENT SERVICE. EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPLICITLY SET FORTH HEREIN, JOHN HANCOCK SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS AND YOU UNDERSTAND THAT JOHN HANCOCK MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AND THE SAME ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED FROM THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ALL TRANSACTIONS CONTEMPLATED HEREBY.
7. INDEMNITY
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold John Hancock, Manulife Financial, and their subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, members, agents or other partners, and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of information you submit, post to or transmit through the Services, your use of the Services, your connection to the Services, your violation of these TOU, or your violation of any rights of another.
8. SUBMISSIONS
Comments, suggestions and questions about the ePay or Services are welcomed. John Hancock does not, however, desire that you send, post or upload any information that is confidential or proprietary to you or to any other person or company. By submitting comments, messages, suggestions, ideas, concepts or other information (collectively, "Materials") to John Hancock, you thereby (a) represent and warrant that such information is not confidential or proprietary to you or to any other person and (b) grant John Hancock and its affiliates an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to: use, copy, publish, transmit, perform and display the Materials for any purpose; create derivative works from such Materials; and implement and use the Materials and any suggestions, concepts or ideas contained therein without compensation to you. Furthermore, you agree that John Hancock, Manulife Financial, their subsidiaries and affiliates are not responsible for the confidentiality of the Materials that you send through the ePay or the Services.
9. LINKS AND THIRD PARTY CONTENT
As a service to you and for your convenience, the ePay and Services may include many links to web sites operated by third parties. By providing links to third party web sites, John Hancock is not endorsing or sponsoring such third parties or their web sites. You agree that John Hancock, Manulife Financial, their subsidiaries and affiliates are not responsible for the availability of or content on any web sites operated by third parties that may be accessible through the Services or linked to this ePay.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All materials available through the ePay or Services, including, but not limited to, text, images, illustrations, audio clips, video clips and other data, are protected by copyrights which are owned or licensed by John Hancock. Except for the limited license granted above, you may not reproduce, perform, create derivative works from, republish, transmit, or distribute in any way whatsoever any materials from the ePay or Services, or any other web site owned or operated by John Hancock, without the prior written permission of John Hancock.
11. USE OF INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
Your trust is important to us. It is one of our most valuable assets. One way we earn your trust is by protecting your personal information. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your personal information and will only use your personal information to do business with you, and as permitted or required by law. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with any unaffiliated company for the purpose of that company marketing its products or services to you. With that in mind, John Hancock has established an Online Privacy Statement that describes how we use the information we collect from visitors to our John Hancock websites. This Statement applies to the information we collect from you over the internet. 12. MODIFICATION AND TERMINATION
John Hancock reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the ePay or Services (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that John Hancock, Manulife Financial, their subsidiaries and affiliates shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the ePay or Services. You agree that John Hancock, in its sole discretion, may terminate your use of the Services, and remove and discard any content within the Services, for any reason, including, without limitation, for lack of use or if John Hancock believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of these TOU. You agree that any termination of your access to the Services under any provision of this TOU may be effected without prior notice, and acknowledge and agree that John Hancock may immediately delete all information related to your use of the Services and/or bar any further access to such information or the Services. Further, you agree that John Hancock, Manulife Financial, their subsidiaries and affiliates shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the Services.
13. GOVERNING LAW
The laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the federal laws of the United States of America shall govern as to the interpretation, validity and effect of these TOU and any use of the ePay and/or Services. The courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in any action or proceeding instituted under or related to these terms or your use of this ePay and/or Services. By using the ePay and/or Services, you agree that Massachusetts courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this ePay and/or Services and that venue shall be only in Boston, Massachusetts.
14. COMPLETE AGREEMENT
These TOU and any agreements governing use of specific portions of the Services constitute the entire understanding between you and John Hancock, Manulife Financial, their subsidiaries and affiliates with respect to the Services and your use thereof, superseding all prior written and oral communications and understandings. If any provision or portion of these TOU is not given legal effect by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision or portion shall drop out of the TOU and the remaining provisions and portions of the TOU shall be construed and enforced. These TOU shall not be interpreted or construed to confer any rights or remedies upon any third parties.
