Patrick Murphy is Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock Retirement, part of John Hancock, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife.
John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (JHRPS) is an industry leader in helping individuals realize the retirement futures they have promised themselves. JHRPS offers retirement plans to organizations ranging from start-ups to providing total retirement outsourced solutions to very large businesses across the United States.
Mr. Murphy joined John Hancock when the company acquired New York Life’s RPS business, where he had served for 11 years, most recently as Chief Executive Officer. The transaction increased John Hancock’s RPS assets under administration by approximately 60 percent, accelerated its expansion into the mid-case to large case private sector retirement plan markets and added scale and expertise in a strategically significant business.
Before working for New York Life, Mr. Murphy had worked in retirement plan services for American Express Retirement Plan Services, Transamerica and Putnam Investments.
He is a member of the Board for Many Hopes, an international organization dedicated to rescuing housing and educating Kenyan children. He also is a career counselor and mentors student athletes at Brown University.
Mr. Murphy graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Organizational Behavior and Management.
